The present study, which consists of three parts, of the conceptual, of the socio-historical and of the philological-hermeneutic, provides a contemporary insight to the phenomenon of interculturalness in Germany, both at a sociopolitical and at a literary level.

The first part examines the commotion that was generated in Europe by the phenomenon of migration, as well as the degree of actualization of the intercultural model within a given society.

The second part attempts a historical review of the migration phenomenon from the Middle Ages up to the present days, and the third part discusses various theoretical views on Migration Literature and attempts to analyze one of the works of the multi-awarded Japanese writer Yoko Tawada.
