GREGORIS ZIAKAS
Professor Emeritus of Religion History, School of Theology, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He studied Theology and Classic Literature at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
Fulfilled his post-graduate studies at the universities of Vienna and Marburg, has been assistant, fellow researcher and since 1980 professor of Religion history. He has been visiting professor at the University of Leuven, Belgium (1984-1985) and at the University of Amman, Jordan (1996).
He is author of a significant number of books, articles and studies regarding the world's religions such as the three-volume introductory work, Prehistoric and Ancient Religions, Modern Asian Religions, Islam. Other publications of his include: Tibetan Religions, Islamic Mysticism, The transference of the Greek and of Aristotle's thinking to the Arab and Islamic tradition, et al.
He is Fellow of many transreligious associations and has participated in many international conferences.
